Our provisional hiring process allows new employees to begin working while certain required clearances and background checks are being processed. Your continued employment beyond this provisional period depends on the satisfactory completion of all required checks.
Required for all new employees. This was initiated on your hire date and is usually completed immediately, but must not exceed 30 days.
Required if you've lived in Pennsylvania less than two years. Your appointment will be scheduled and must occur within 3 days of your hire date. Results usually arrive within 1β2 weeks; your provisional period cannot exceed 90 days.
You were required to disclose any criminal history during the hiring process. If a criminal record exists, Silver Home Care evaluates each situation individually, considering the nature of offenses, time elapsed, relevance to your position, references, and rehabilitation.
β οΈ Important: Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information will result in immediate termination upon discovery.
During the hiring process, you attested that you have never been excluded from Medicaid programs due to fraud, abuse, criminal convictions, or misconduct. π« Employment cannot proceed if you have been excluded from Medicaid programs.
Required if you will be working in homes with residents under 18 years old. This clearance supports our commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals. πΆ

We may verify your employment history with your most recent employer, as well as any other employers you've authorized us to contact.
Employment with Silver Home Care is contingent upon successfully verifying your references. You must have two satisfactory personal references verified before you become eligible to begin working.
If you have written references, please email them promptly to:

The personal references you provided will receive an email from us within the next hour requesting feedback on your suitability for the position.
Please contact them and ask them to respond promptly. Inform them we may follow up with a phone call π to confirm their identity unless clearly identifiable from their email address.
If we don't receive a response within 24 hours, we will attempt to contact them by phone.

The HHAeXchange mobile app is essential for clocking in/out, documenting visits, and managing your schedule. You must have this app installed and set up before your first shift.

Important: If you experience any issues downloading or logging into the app, contact the office immediately at (215) 123-4567. You cannot begin work without a functioning HHAeXchange app.
Our dress code ensures professionalism, comfort, and safety for our employees and clients. Carefully review and adhere to these guidelines:
One Silver Home Care T-shirt or Scrub Top β $10
(deducted from your first paycheck)
Additional shirts or scrub tops: $15 each
Clean, professional-looking, full-length pants (slacks, jeans, or scrub pants)
π« Not Permitted: Yoga pants, leggings, tights, sweatpants, or ripped/torn clothing
Comfortable, closed-toe shoes required at all times for your safety and comfort
Clearly display your Silver Home Care badge during every shift for easy identification
Jewelry:
Minimal, tasteful jewelry that does not interfere with caregiving duties. Rings should generally be avoided for safety and hygiene reasons.
Hair:
Clean, neatly styled, and securely pulled back away from your face
Fingernails:
Short, clean, and neatly trimmed. Long or sharp nails are prohibited.
Fragrance:
Avoid perfumes or heavily scented products to respect clients with allergies or sensitivities.
As part of onboarding, you'll receive a Silver Home Care clear tote bag. To foster trust, transparency, and prevent misunderstandings, use only this provided clear bag when bringing items into clients' homes. Avoid using personal bags or purses during visits.

If you notice you're running low on gloves, hand sanitizer, referral cards, or any other provided items, please promptly notify the office. We're here to ensure you always have everything you need to provide consistent, high-quality care.
